For always being supportive and encouraging and generous and kind to me and the various riff-raff I’ve brought home over the years, also for driving me all sorts of peculiar places. Rather than moan about spending my money on travelling, you instead ask, ‘Where are you going next?’ And most of all thanks for bringing me into the world, that was helpful as well.
For being a good friend, always being encouraging, for listening to my perpetual whining and for not getting awkward when I get really soppy. Also for being a great confidante and a fantastic drinking buddy, not to mention the person I warble to the most about travelling.

Just for being my best friend. And she’s a calming presence too. Any anxiety I might be feeling at any time suddenly seems a whole lot easier to bear around her. A day with her is always a better day than normal, and she listens to me talk without complaint (astonishingly) and has the best sense of humour. It’s quite possible to spend every moment with her just laughing, which, I think you’ll agree is always a preferable way to spend any moment.
